Privacy Policy
Effective as of June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Mindfulness Chime (Hourly Chime & Speaking Clock), package name net.langhoangal.mindfulnesschime (the “App”), handles information when you use the App. The App is provided worldwide on Google Play by Hoàng Lạng, an individual developer based in Vietnam (“I”, “me”, or “my”).
Summary
The App does not ask you to create a named account or directly provide your name, email address, password, phone number, contacts, or location. Most chime and text-to-speech settings remain on your device. However, the App uses advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, remote-configuration, anonymous-authentication, consent-management, and Google Play services that automatically process certain identifiers, device information, usage information, diagnostics, consent choices, and purchase information.
Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores its settings locally using Android storage. These settings may include:
- chime status, schedules, silent periods, days of operation, and rules for airplane mode or calls;
- volume, audio channel, time format, theme, language, vibration, and notification preferences;
- the URI and name of a selected sound or ringtone;
- text-to-speech settings, selected language and voice, playback order, and text entered by you;
- premium and advertising status, remote feature flags, update information, and app-rating counters or timestamps.
I do not receive these locally stored settings through my own servers. Android backup is disabled for the App. SDKs included in the App may separately store their own identifiers, consent state, and configuration on your device.
Information Processed Automatically
Depending on the service, device, region, and your privacy choices, the App and its third-party providers may process:
- device and other identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID, Firebase Installation ID, app-instance identifiers, and an anonymous Firebase Authentication user ID;
- IP address and general information derived from it, such as an approximate region;
- device model, operating system, app version, language, and technical configuration;
- app interactions and usage information, including screen or session activity and selected actions;
- advertising information, including ad requests, impressions, interactions, and consent status;
- diagnostic information, including crash traces, timestamps, performance information, and related technical data;
- purchase and transaction information processed through Google Play Billing.
How Information Is Used
The information described above is used to:
- provide and maintain the App’s features;
- deliver, measure, personalize where permitted, and protect advertising;
- understand App usage and improve functionality;
- detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems;
- deliver remote configuration and update information;
- process and restore the one-time premium purchase through Google Play;
- comply with legal obligations and protect users, the App, and third-party services against fraud or abuse.
Advertising and Analytics
The free version of the App uses Google AdMob and may display banner, interstitial, app-open, and native ads. AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID and other information to deliver, measure, limit, and protect ads. The App does not use third-party mediation networks.
The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request or manage advertising consent where Google determines that a privacy message is required and a message has been configured for the applicable region. Your available advertising choices and the type of ads served may depend on your location, Google’s requirements, and your consent choices.
Google Analytics for Firebase is enabled by default. It automatically processes app usage and device information. The App also records events related to rating prompts and FAQ use, together with platform, device model, and app version. Analytics user properties may include whether the user is ad-supported or paid, the Google Play distribution channel, and the approximate number of days since installation. The App does not currently provide a setting to disable Analytics collection.
You can make a one-time Google Play purchase of premium_forever, which is intended to remove advertising. Google Play processes the payment and purchase transaction. I do not operate a payment server and do not store your payment-card details.
Crash Reporting
Firebase Crashlytics is enabled by default and may automatically collect crash reports and related diagnostic information. The App does not currently provide a setting to disable Crashlytics collection. I do not intentionally attach your name, email address, text-to-speech content, or a custom user ID to Crashlytics reports.
Anonymous Firebase Identity
The App does not provide a user-facing account or login. It does, however, use Firebase Authentication to create a technical anonymous identity. Firebase assigns an anonymous user ID and may store related authentication metadata. This identity is used in connection with App analytics and is not a named profile created by you.
Remote Configuration
Firebase Remote Config is used to retrieve feature flags, including whether certain ad formats are enabled, whether a banner is enabled on the home screen, and current App version information. The App does not currently use Remote Config Personalization or Firebase A/B Testing.
Text-to-Speech Engines
Text entered for spoken chimes is stored locally and passed to the text-to-speech engine selected on your device. The text-to-speech engine is a separate app or service and is not part of Mindfulness Chime. Depending on the engine and voice you choose, it may process speech offline or transmit text to its provider. Its handling of your text is governed by that provider’s privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Google services. Their processing is governed by their applicable terms and privacy documentation:
- Google Privacy Policy, including Google Play Services, Google Play Billing, and Google Play In-App Review;
- Google AdMob;
- Google User Messaging Platform;
- Google Analytics for Firebase;
- Firebase privacy and security information, including Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Installations, and Firebase Remote Config.
Sharing and Sale of Information
I do not sell or rent personal information. Information is disclosed to Google and Firebase through the SDKs described above so they can provide advertising, analytics, crash reporting, authentication, remote configuration, consent management, billing, and Google Play functionality. Text entered by you is also provided to the text-to-speech engine that you select when necessary to perform that feature.
I may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; enforce applicable terms; investigate fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues; or protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the App, or others.
Data Retention
Locally stored App settings remain on your device until you change or delete them, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App. Clearing App data or uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete information already processed by a third-party provider.
I do not maintain my own server or a separate database of named user profiles. Information processed by Google Play Services, AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Installations, Firebase Remote Config, and UMP is retained according to Google’s settings, policies, and retention practices.
If you contact me for support, I may retain your email and any information you provide only for as long as necessary to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or improve the app.
Data Deletion
You can delete locally stored App data by clearing the App’s storage in Android settings or uninstalling the App.
To request deletion of information you provided directly to me, such as a support email, or to request assistance regarding the anonymous Firebase identity associated with the App, contact support@langhoangal.dev. Include the App name and enough information to identify your request. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
I will respond to a verifiable deletion request and, where applicable, complete it within 30 days. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or accounting purposes. Data controlled independently by Google or a selected text-to-speech provider may need to be addressed through that provider’s privacy controls or request process.
Security
I use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information handled directly by me. Information transmitted to the services listed above is sent using their SDKs and encrypted network connections where supported. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
International Processing
The App is offered worldwide. Google, Firebase, and text-to-speech providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy policies describe their international data-handling practices and applicable safeguards.
Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for adults, is not directed to children under 13, and is not declared as a child-directed or Families app on Google Play. I do not knowingly request personal information directly from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information directly to me, contact me so I can take appropriate action.
Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of certain personal information, or to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. To submit a request, contact me using the details below. I may need to verify the request and may be unable to identify information held only under an identifier that you cannot provide.
The App does not currently provide controls to disable Google Analytics for Firebase or Firebase Crashlytics. Advertising consent choices may be presented through Google UMP where required. You may also reset or delete your Android Advertising ID through your device’s privacy settings, subject to the options available in your Android version.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
